Choose the right route for the change

Use a direct edit for a specific menu change, a schedule for an approved board that should appear at a planned time, and an agreed integration workflow for connected POS data. Confirm which tools are enabled for your account and who handles design, approval and publication. Access to a feature does not mean every team member has permission to publish.

A price changes
Identify the exact item and price, then review the requested change before it is approved for display.
A service period changes
Prepare the right board or image, select the target screen and set its date or recurring days and time window.
A POS record changes
A supported Square connection can carry price changes through to live boards automatically. Confirm the connected account, mapped location and fields included in your setup.

From a voice price request to the screen

Voice editing is available with the appropriate account permissions. In the price-change workflow, requests are collected for review and a board version is prepared for approval. CedMenu can confirm which steps your team handles and which are assisted by an authorized operator.

  1. Identify the item and intended price

Use the item’s exact menu name and state the new price clearly. If asked, clarify the size or variant. Confirm the correct business and target board rather than relying on a similar item name.

  2. Complete the change list

Add any further price changes for the same request. Review the full read-back and correct missing items, amounts or duplicate-name matches before confirming.

  3. Review the pending board

Confirmation prepares the pending board version; it does not by itself make that version live. Check the resulting prices and layout in the preview.

  4. Approve, publish and verify

The authorized CedMenu operator approves and publishes the board. Check the intended restaurant display after it receives the update, and make sure it agrees with the price customers are charged.

The homepage animation is an illustrative demonstration. It does not operate a customer’s live menu, and its simplified sequence is not a complete approval workflow.

Plan breakfast, lunch and promotion windows

Start with the approved board or image for each service period. Write down the target screen, dates or repeating days, start and end times, and what should appear outside that window. Confirm the restaurant’s time zone and test the transition before relying on it during service.

Breakfast to lunch
An illustrative plan might show breakfast until 11 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. onward. Confirm both menus are available at those times and test which board takes over at the boundary.
A limited-time offer
Give the promotion a defined window and decide whether it should take over the screen or join its rotation. Check the regular content that should return when the window ends.
An exception
Plan for a sold-out item or a promotion that finishes early. Name the person who can request the change and the person who can approve the replacement.

Set and check an image schedule

For an enabled scheduling account, the Scheduled Images controls let an authorized operator choose an image and a window. Voice requests and screen scheduling are separate steps; an exact approved board or media version is needed before scheduling can be completed.

  1. Choose the image and dates

Select the approved image for the intended screen, then choose Today, Tomorrow, Specific date or Repeating days as appropriate.

  2. Set the time and playback mode

Enter the start and end time. Choose Take over screen or Join rotation. Joining a rotation requires an enabled image playlist; check the image’s duration and position.

  3. Save and verify the result

Use Save schedule, then check the target display and its next transition. Allow for the screen’s regular sync rather than assuming a saved change is already visible.

Schedule-window changes reach an online display on its next regular sync. An offline display keeps its last downloaded playback configuration. Check the player, connection and expected behavior during setup.

Confirm the POS workflow before depending on it

CedMenu currently supports automatic Square price updates to live menu boards. Other POS integrations are in progress; ask about availability for your system. Tell us your Square account and location setup, or the POS you use today, so we can confirm compatibility and the fields you want to keep aligned. Agree on which system owns the price, how items and locations are matched, and how manual menu edits interact with synced prices. Test a controlled price change on the intended display before making the connection your normal workflow.
